Perfect looking polish!

You've just got home after buying a beautiful new nail polish... the first thing you do? Try it out!
But how do you get it looking neat and tidy like a professional salon manicure? Here's how...

Prep:
Allow yourself enough time, rushed nails are generally bad nails.
Make sure you have the desired nail shape
Buff over you nails to give a smooth surface to paint on
Push back your cuticles to give a nice tidy appearance

Polish:

ALWAYS apply a basecoat! If you have ridges in your nails or dry nails apply a base coat specifically for your nail type as it will only enhance how the polish will look in the end.

Okay so colour, we always apply 2 coats! Some cheaper polishes may need 3 coats depending on the quality but generally only 2 will be needed.

You should apply in 2 strokes to get the main coverage of nail, allowing one more stroke to neaten it up.

Don't be too worried about how it looks on the first coat! It will look light and may be slightly patchy, the second coat will sort this out! Make sure you don't apply the polish to thick or it will never dry.

Hold your brush a couple of mm away from the cuticle, push towards the cuticle but NOT touching and then pull back to the free edge.

As you can see from the picture they are the 3 strokes.

Apply to both hands, by the time the second hand is done the first nails should by dry.

Do a second coat in exactly the same way and the same thickness. You should now have full coverage!

If you have any bits of polish on your skin leave until all nails are dry, or else your likely to risk smudging one! Get a cotton bud or an orange stick with cotton wool on the end, dipped in polish remover and lightly rub the polish off the skin.

To finish apply a glossy top coat to protect!
