Everyone wants to have the perfect tan year round, theres obviously the choice of sunbeds, or jetting off to somewhere like Mexico for some winter sun - but the easy option, a bottle of Fake Tan!
You'd think it would be easy to do, but firstly - Which tan do you pick, do you get a mousse, a lotion, a spray?
Well here are some useful tips on getting the perfect winter tan....
*ALWAYS exfoliate and moisturise 24hours before you apply any tan.
This will make the application of the tan go on smoother and no patches.
*If your new to tanning choose a lotion or a mousse, sprays can be difficult if your not used to using them.
*ALWAYS use a mitt or a glove.
This will keep the palms of your hands clean and you won't end up with orange hands where the tan won't wash off. I prefer to use latex gloves to apply as it gives a smoother finish.
*Mix some moisturiser in with the tan when applying to your face.
The skin on your face is different to the rest of your body, tan will take more on your face so mixing a little moisturiser with it gives it smoother application and a better colour.
*When applying tan over knees and elbows skim over with the tan, therfore applying less product.
Knees and Elbows have harder skin, the tan will take to this straight away and you can end up with darker knees and elbows if your not careful. You can always apply some moisturiser to the areas to help prevent this happening.
*Be quick. Tanning products can dry quite quickly if you spend to long trying to rub it in it will dry and start to flake into small balls, or will just streak.
If this does happen apply a little moisturiser and blend the tan - DO NOT be tempted to just apply more tan and hope for the best.
Now hopefully you can all have a perfect tan :D
